Olav Skår is an international executive with a strong track record of sustainable business delivery. He provides authentic leadership supported by deep technical, operational, HSSE, regulatory and learning and development expertise.
Olav’s successful 30-year international career at Shell included assignments leading large operational teams, and leader of Shell’s MSc accredited and industry leading Wells Learning program. In 2019, he was seconded from Shell to the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers (IOGP) as director of safety, health, security, subsea and wells.
Olav is passionate about developing people and managing teams, ensuring alignment around common purpose to deliver exceptional results and promote high levels of engagement. He is adept at leading teams under challenging circumstances and across diverse geographical, cultural and operational environments. Olav consistently delivers excellent multi-national, public and private sector outcomes through positive, energetic and empowering leadership and builds trust with stakeholders.
Olav has recently completed the International Director Program at INSEAD, is a visiting professor with Robert Gordon University in the UK where he also achieved an MSC in well design and engineering.
